Null handling

The null value can be defined to be any sequence of printable characters. Fields that contain this defined value or that are empty between consecutive delimiters are treated as nulls.

The default null value is an empty field without quotation marks between consecutive delimiters.

One or more specified columns can also be forced to receive an empty string rather than a null value.

The ‘n’ and ‘N’ switches are used to define null behaviour.
