White space trimming

Trailing whitespace (spaces and tabs) can optionally be removed from unquoted field values. This is typically used for fixed length fields.

Note that trailing whitespace is always preserved within any quoted values such as “TEXT  “.

By default, trailing whitespace is preserved for both delimited and fixed length fields.

The ‘w’ switch is used to remove trailing white space.
