What is a global table?

A global table contains data which is universally common across the network and does not vary by geographical location, such as reference and dimension data.

The content of a global table is managed centrally from a catalog server. The data and any changes made are automatically replicated across edge servers to allow the network to optimise its join strategies at query time.
