What is a node in a network?

A node is an access point in a network where a node can represent an area of the network, an edge point or a physical server.

Networks are arranged as a tree of interconnected nodes, where the leaves of the tree denote physical servers with data and nodes above the leaf nodes denote logical grouping and access points.
