What is a table?

A table is where data is stored and comprises of one or more named columns and zero or more rows. A newly created table is empty with zero rows and data can be added to a table by inserting rows.

A single table can contain thousands of columns and potentially trillions of rows.
Tables can be created and dropped at will and the column structure of a table can be dynamically changed as and when required.
Depending on the scope of the table, it may contain message data or universal dimension/reference data.
